Ever wanted to take a nice, long look at the Sun without going blind? Have a random question about space? Ever wanted to just chill with a bunch of astronomy nerds? You're in luck.
Telescopes by the Tower is an event that the UT Astronomy Students Association hosts twice a month where we bring telescopes with solar filters to various locations in Austin and point them at the Sun for anybody and everybody to look at. It's completely safe, completely free, and you finally get a chance to clearly see that big giant bright thing in the sky that your parents said to never to look at! Also keep in mind that the Sun changes every day, so you have a reason to come back!
We bring the telescopes out on the second Saturday and last Wednesday of every month, from approximately 11 am to 5 pm. We stay on the UT campus for the last Wednesday and head out to various locations in Austin on the second Saturday. We will always update our location on our Facebook page, so keep an eye out and stop by!
Tell your family, tell your friends, tell your dog, spread the word and we'll see you by the telescopes!
